Dance
i tango alone
inside a kaleidescope
looking out.
rainbows of
swirling movements
surround me
and sweep me along
in my dance to
the music of times.
interrupting, a red jolt
breaks my pattern
steps quicken and
grow wild, uncontrolled.
a rhythm not my own
wrenches my body.
pain and desire
are inseperable.
i am pulled and pushed,
dragged along to a time
too fast to comprehend,
too irregular to assimilate.
i stumble, and fall
to my hands and knees.
lost in a flurry of feet
alone again on the floor.
but all is transitory
and i fade back to blue.
now swaying,
my dance continues
as time rocks me
gently on.
